Professional Career
Over the past 4 years I have been responsible for the vast majority of the project management for the business I work for. As the first employee in 2006 I worked hard to build the company from literally a name and a business card to a well-known, popular, web services supplier with customers ranging from the NHS, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and The Charity Commission to numerous start-ups and small businesses.
To further my professional understanding of Project Management I sat two further education qualifications from Strode College, an ASET level 2 qualification in Business Management and a Level 3 qualification in project management.
Personal Projects
In 2007 I decided that in order to keep up with trends and developments, further to those within the scope of customer’s requirements, that I would begin developing some websites for myself in my evenings and weekends.
These began with a dedicated support website for a popular mobile phone at the time, ku990.co.uk, which quickly became the defacto support forum for many LG mobile phones. As the popularity rose, the demand on requirements and equipment did as well, taking a personal personal small website project into a potentially profitably company.
In order to continually support the project’s growth the website was registered as a business (under the dkeirle.com name), giving an insight into the world of book-keeping and taxation, and the website monetised to support the requirements of dedicated high-level hardware (giving an understanding of creating revenue from Google’s AdWords advertising campaigns).
In 2009 the website name was changed to MyGreatPhone.com to allow for support for a wider range of handsets to be supported and later that year a further dedicated website was created, MyGreatiPhone.com, to support the Apple iPhone handset entirely.
Now there are several new off-shoots within the MyGreat brand, including an URL shortening service at the MyGreat network website’s parent MyGre.at. MyGreatPhone, MyGreatiPhone and now MyGreatAndroid continue to deliver news, support and related journalism to over 150,000 unique monthly visitors.
